Presidents Message

President of Sisters’ Journey Dawn White-Bracey

Welcome to the 26th Annual “Stories of Hope” Breast Cancer Survivors Calendar!

Each month, we celebrate the strength and resilience of survivors, sharing their inspiring journeys and triumphs. These 12 women courageously detail how they responded to the call to action, highlighting the love and support they received along the way, specifically from friends and family, near and far. Their unwavering faith in God and their deep gratitude for overcoming challenges shine through every page.Despite the persistent health disparities among African Americans, we remain committed to educating, encouraging, and empowering our community. Statistically, black women face a higher mortality rate from breast cancer, and the rate of late-stage diagnosis in young black women, who don’t meet the age guidelines for screenings, is alarming. Together we can work toward closing the gap in incidence and mortality rates. Every step forward brings us closer to making a meaningful difference.

Sisters’ Journey is deeply grateful to all our volunteers and supporters. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or have been with us for many years, your commitment makes a tremendous difference. We  also particularly appreciate the generosity of our sponsors. They are the “icing on the cake.” Their contributions enhance our celebration and help us create lasting memories.  May these stories uplift you and remind us all of the power of hope.

Peace and Blessings,

Dawn
