Linda White-Epps (June 28, 1947 – October 30, 2003) was a fierce advocate for breast cancer awareness and the driving force behind Sisters’ Journey. After her own diagnosis in the early 1990s, she committed her life to making sure no woman—especially women of color—would face breast cancer alone.
She founded Sisters’ Journey to provide support, education, and hope for women navigating breast cancer. Linda also launched the Annual Survivor Calendar and the beloved Pink Tea celebration—both became powerful platforms for sharing survivor stories and inspiring others.
Even through her second battle with cancer, Linda continued to speak out, volunteer, and advocate for early detection and health equity. She lobbied in Washington, organized Connecticut’s first Relay for Life in Hamden, and earned national recognition—including the NAACP Freedom Fund Award and the Presidential Daily Point of Light Award.
Linda’s work lives on in every life touched by Sisters’ Journey. Her spirit, love, and determination continue to guide our mission.
