Sisters’ Journey Participates In the 2026 Annual Freddy Fixer Parade

On Sunday, June 7, Sisters' Journey was proud to participate in the 61st Annual Elm City Freddy Fixer Parade in New Haven. Thousands of community members gathered to celebrate one of the city's most cherished traditions.

The parade began at the intersection of Dixwell Avenue and Bassett Street and traveled to Lake Place, bringing together families, organizations, churches, businesses, and community leaders in a vibrant display of unity and pride.

As the oldest Black American parade in the Northeast, the Freddy Fixer Parade is dedicated to celebrating Black culture, heritage, and community. Sisters' Journey was honored to join in this historic event, sharing our mission of encouraging, empowering, and educating individuals and families about breast health awareness and the importance of early detection.

We thank the parade organizers, volunteers, and everyone who came out to support this wonderful community celebration. Events like the Freddy Fixer Parade remind us of the strength, resilience, and spirit that unite our community.

Together, we continue to make a difference—one conversation, one connection, and one life at a time.
